James
D'Angelo is the author of the book (with CD) "The
Healing Power of the Human Voice" (Inner Traditions International,
July 2005). He has developed and led therapeutic sound and
movement workshops in England, Scotland, Italy, Spain and
the USA and is considered an authority on the subject of sound
healing therapies.
Co-editor of Caduceuss best selling issue on healing
with sound and music, he is a regular member of its editorial
board and chief consultant on sound therapies. Since 1987
he has been on the music faculty at Goldsmiths College where
he specializes in improvisation and has introduced therapeutic
sound into the course offerings.
Paul
Devereux is an independent researcher and freelance
author (26 mainstream-published books in 28 years), lecturer
and broadcaster. His main areas of interest are cognitive
archaeology (especially the newly-designated field of archaeoacoustics)
and the anthropology of consciousness and consciousness
studies generally. In addition to writing books, he also
pens magazine articles and has peer-review papers to his
name, plus he is a founding co-editor of a new peer-review
journal, Time & Mind. He is also a painter and photographer.
He
is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Senior Research
Fellow of the International Consciousness Research Laboratories
(ICRL) group, Princeton. He
is also the author of 'Stone-Age Soundtracks' (2001), and
is currently a research associate at the Royal College of
Art engaged in an audio-visual survey of two iconic prehistoric
landscapes with the project called "Landscape &
